You really bring Strongbow to life in this piece. This explanation of the amount of wheeling dealing to accomplish a militaty invasion is something we never learn about in history! From the Irish perspective we assume that the English monarch just ordered the various invasions never thinking that the leader of an invading force had to find his own finance!
